Spinstoppable

As the new year dawns, I am undertaking a number of new personal and professional projects. I will no longer post on Power 10 Spinning / spinningmixes.wordpress.com, but encourage you to continue browsing the archives made-up of 39 hour-long workouts. There are some great and fun routines buried on this main page, so be sure to scroll down and click-through more than just the newest music mixes.

It’s been a wonderful ride these last few years and I am grateful to everyone who stumbled across this site, bookmarked it and shared it with your friends, sent me testimonials and playlists, and emailed me with suggestions for how to improve the site — or simply to share your addiction to spinning and spandex.

I started this blog as a way to share with my gym members the music and workouts of our indoor cycling classes, though it soon found a larger audience. In posting a new mix (roughly) every month since April 2007, I’ve been fortunate to have made and met some wonderful new friends from across the globe. Thank you for reading and reaching out.

As this blog is indefinitely suspended, I want to give a shout-out to some of the people and sites that inspired me ride and write. These are some of the best and my most favorite spinning blogs on the web:

For more ideas, be sure to check out David McQuillen’s “The Sufferfest”, where he has assembled a fantastic list of indoor cycling resources that includes links to spinning-related podcasts, videos and DVDs, websites with choreographed workouts and music playlists, social training sites, and general riding information. A new Spinning Community Site is also being built by Mad Dogg Athletics, which current or aspirational instructors may find useful.

Feel free to leave a comment, send me an email at jasonatwood [at] gmail [dot] com, or check-out my regular blog, which I will continue to update, at playthink.wordpress.com. I will be offline through most of January, but will be sure to respond when I have Internet access.

Ride like the wind!

Great site!!! I will miss getting your new mixes (and will wonder what’s the new, cool stuff JR is rocking out to?), but there’s a lot here to keep this site active and helpful! You’ve given the SPIN community a lot to work with! Thank you for an archive of music selections to always help me keep my rides and classes exciting and fresh. You rock!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

You were one of my early inspirations to get into blogging, so thanks for all you’ve done! And thanks for the mention in your post above – that’s really appreciated. Best of luck with everything and thanks again, David McQuillen, The Sufferfest

    Hi, there.

Can you tell me how to download the workouts? I can’t go to group classes anymore and have to do it on my own. I’d like to be able to download the workout to my iPod. Any suggestions?

It’s people like you that inspire others to publish playlists and workouts. Thanks for all of the mixes and workouts over the years. I’ve been quietly following your site, but now have found a voice in sharing the classes I’ve put together over the years. Good luck with your future endeavors.

Can I purchase the mix music for spinning from
you instead of downing from Itunes?

If so, how do I go about this since I haven’t found
    a purchase or buy selection?

    Thanks,
